Akaihane Writing Journal

A new layout for my fanfiction journal, using an image from the X (X/1999) game.

This theme was for a free LJ account and therefore the options where restricted. However, I was able to override the pre-programmed CSS with styles of my own.

Subaru/Kamui // Gothic

This time I customised every element of LJ code, including editing the date variable to a certain font, a certain size and a contain a background image. This layout required CSS hacks to ensure it displayed correctly on both Mozilla-based browsers, such as FireFox, as well as IE. I have also made a complex pattern for the journal's background.

This time it incoporated an image from a CLAMP artbook.

A Save Tokyo City Story

This was the first customised layout for LJ Akaihane created, using Photoshop CS and Dreamweaver MX. It uses images maps for navigation and DIV layers for LJ entries as well as for the information column to the right.

To create customised LJ accounts, you not only need to code a webpage as you would for a normal site, but also include and edit pieces of LJ-specific code. For more information, here is a helpful tutorial.

TDD-1 // Full Metal Panic! LJ Comm

Akaihane maintains a number of of communities on LJ. One of those is TDD-1, a popular community dedicated to the anime/novel/manga series Full Metal Panic!

Using images from the opening animation for the anime's third season, she created a colleage for the header of the site, trying to reflect the style of the show.

Once again the navigation uses image maps and the content areas use DIV layers. CSS has been used for styling the text.

A revamp was recently finished, this time using images from the illustrated novels.

This time the style is very different, light pastels and a more comic atmosphere replacing the more action-orientated style of the previous layout.

Honey & Clover LJ Comm

Another one of the LJ communities I run is for the anime/manga Honey & Clover. As this is a free account (those above are paid for accounts), I have used the advanced customisation option on LJ to create the comm's layout. After changes to the LiveJournal's custom style controls, it was possible to move on from this design onto a more complex, CSS-based one.

This new revamp was recently completed, using advanced CSS to customise the visuals further than was possible in the previous style.

Also, this style used graphics from the manga rather than the anime as in the older layout.

 

TYOB Subaru LJ

Before I began to work upon customised LJ entries, I used the advanced customisation option on LJ to create personalised layouts. This pink layout was one of the first customised LJ layouts Akaihane made.

This layout uses an image of Subaru from a Tokyo Babylon art book.

X/1999 Subaru LJ

Another customised version of an LJ layout, this time using an art book image of Subaru from X/1999.

Kalinin's LJ

This banner, from the video game 'Vagrant Story', was created for Akaihane's boyfriend's LJ.
