Altruism // A Sumeragi Subaru Shrine

Altruism is a shrine site dedicated to Sumeragi Subaru from the mangas/animes 'Tokyo Babylon' and 'X/1999'. It was created in Summer 2005, and although the design and coding for the site too a mere day and a half, the actually content took months to pull together.

The site is still currently being updated as the character now appears in another manga, Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, by the same manga-kas, CLAMP, and as X/1999 is not yet complete.

The design of the site was based upon the manga's motifs, such as serif text, symmetry and strong, straight lines. Although bold colours play a key role in the manga's style, Akaihane wanted to tone down these colours a little to give the site a more classical, mature appearance.

The site is completely XHTML valid.

This was the initial design concept for Altruism, based upon the covers for the Tokyo Babylon manga.

Although the design was based upon the covers, it was felt following the mangas other motifs would herald a better design.
