The True Team Rocket
Is Jessie's, James' and Meowth's friendship any less true than Ash-tachi's?
No! Are they really the bad guys? No!
Yes, the Team Rocket organization really is, but as for Jessie,
James and Meowth, there is a lot of evidence to the contrary.
For a start, they have willing went against their own organisation
a number of time, risking death, to do what they feel is right.
This page is devoted to the threesome and to all their acts of
kindness, bravery and shows the friendship they share together,
and even with Ash-tachi, their 'supposed' enemies.
Mystery at the Lighthouse
When they begin to attack the giant Pokémon, James says
that they shouldn't be doing this.
" Even I know this is rotten." He has a conscience.
Holy Matrimony!
Ash, Misty and Brock stand up for James' right to marry who he
wants, and for him not to marry Jessebell. Also, when James
tells the story of how he died (he's all mixed up and says that
he has amnesia), both Ash and Brock start crying saying how much
they miss him. Misty then points out the fact that James is
sitting right infront of them. The five get on quite well
when they are in the dog house, talking about James' past.
When Jessebell attacks with her Pokémon, Pikachu teams up
with James' Growlith and defeat her together.
All Fired Up
Even though Team Rocket has just attacked them, Ash puts them out
when they catch on fire, and he has done this several more times.
Pikachu Re-Volts
In this episode, they team up to fight Butch and Cassidy, who have
stolen their Pokémon. First of all Ash and co. help
Jessie and James after Cassidy and Butch have given them a good
going over. They are willing to help their 'enemies'.
After Team Rocket regain consciousness, they say that they do not
want to help Ash, as they are loyal to their team mates. But
when Ash begs them to help him, they see how distressed he is, as
they are, so decide to help.
Later, when the two Team Rockets fight, they decide upon a two
on two battle, but then Ash runs in saying, "Make that three", joining
Jessie and James. Also, when Ash, Jessie and James have a
set back in the battle, Jessie puts a consoling hand on Ash's shoulder
and tells him, "Don't worry. We'll beat them." It was
pretty sweet.
This motto is from 'Meowth Rules!', proving that
they have a truly strng friendship
Jessie: I'm a friend who needs you too!
James: Make that double, we both need you!
Jessie: You protect us all from desperation
James: You unite us all in jubilation
Jessie: You chase away our loneliness
James: You're a mess, but we love you nonetheless
Jessie: Jessie!
James: James!
Jessie: Team Rocket's friendship never ends
James: So lets set sail on our ship of friends!
The Wayward Wobbuffet
Wobbuffet is responsible for the capture of the criminal, Garnet,
and protected Ash's Totodile against Garnet's Golem.
Mewtwo Strikes Back
The team, after seeing the fighting, say that they are going to
give up their life of crime. The only problem is that at the
end, Mewtwo wipes their memories of the events that took place,
so they forget their promise.
The Power of One
Team Rocket team up with Ash, Misty and Tracey to save the world
from destruction, and throughout the movie, they all seem to get
on really well. Also, Jessie gives Ash a little advice about
reationships and love.
Conclusion
Jessie, James and Meowth truly care for one another, always willing
to help when one of them is in trouble. It also seems that,
under different circumstances, they could be really good friends
with Ash, Misty, Brock and Pikachu.
The three have had their share of problems in childhood that have
lead them into the career as criminals (Jessie's idolation of her
mother, James hate of upperclass society and his fiancee, Meowth's
love for a materialistic female), and from their failure so far
in capturing Pikachu, it doesn't seem that it is their best sutied
career path. But they are great trainers and have good heart,
even if they don't like to admit to the fact.
