Character Profile

Jun'ichi is Kenta and Marina's childhood friend. Despite teasing Kenta for having feelings for Marina, Jun'ichi actually has a crush upon her himself, and can become very protective and possessive of her. Like his two friends, he set off on his journey alone.

When Kenta and Marina become involved in the Raikou situation, Professor Elm (Utsugi) calls Jun'ichi to help them.

Months after the Raikou event, Jun'ichi takes part in the Johto League Competition. He battles against Ash (Satoshi), cheered on by Kenta and Marina. However, he loses this battle, but is just happy to have gotten so far.

Jun'ichi is named after Jun'ichi Masuda, GameFreak's sound director.
