Her mother died giving birth to her, so her father has always been overattentive. He is a children's clothes designer and tests out his new designs upon her. Tsubasa loves to dress up.
She has known Arima, Tsubaki, Aya and Rika for years. She has had a crush upon Arima for years, and, despite attempting to reveal her feelings to him several times in the past, he has never seemed to notice. But she was always happy to be regarded by Arima as a little 'sister'.
Shortly before she was due to start high school, Tsubasa rode her skateboard into a wall, causing it to tumble and trap her under a pile of rocks. She wasn't found until the next day.
After several months in the hospital, she was finally able to attend Hokuei Prefectural, a school she had constantly studied to get into, hoping to stay close to Arima. However, when she arrived, she found that he was dating Yukino. Tsubasa had always believed that Arima was not interested in dating, and this was the only reason she was content to stay his 'sister.' Instantly, she waged war upon her friend's girlfriend, attacking her at every possible instant and even burning up a picture of Yukino she found in Arima's wallet. When Arima discovered what was happening, he and her were able to talk about the situation, and she finally accepted Arima's love for Yukino.
Since then, Tsubasa has grown really close to Yukino. She allows her, and her other close friends, to dress her up, cuddle her and feed her sweets.
But shortly after the Arima-Yukino problem is solved, Tsubasa decides to run away from home. Her father has decided to marry a nurse he met at the hospital she was treated in after her accident. Tsubasa feels this woman is trying to become her mother and to steal her father away from her, and won't stand for it. But after speaking to her father, his fiancee, and her friends, she reconsiders how others must be feeling and gives in.
The next step is to meet her future step-mother's son, Kazuma, who is about the same age as Tsubasa. Initally worried by his punk appearance, and angered by his belief that she is much younger than him (Tsubasa is the elder), the two do not get along. But, a few days later, when Kazuma saves her from a pervert, nearly getting himself arrested in the process, they speak properly and Tsubasa realises they have a great deal in common. They are both somewhat lonely, always coming home to an empty house after school. When their parents discover the soon-to-be siblings friendship, and possibly more, they hastely get married and move into the Shibahime residence the next day.
Tsubasa is one of the actors in the play Aya wrote for the Culture Fest.
